💎 All The Pumpkins Please (Issue #7)
PLUS: The Price Is Right in Dayton
Good morning,
And welcome to the 49 new subscribers that have joined us since last week! Every week, we strive to help you become that person among your family and friends who knows what’s going on and happening in the Miami Valley.
It’s that time of the year where it’s all things pumpkin and we’re (mostly) here for it. Though, I tried a pumpkin beer last weekend, and it tasted like drinking a pumpkin pie. Sounds good on paper, but I’d rather just have the pumpkin pie. With a big ole dollop of whip cream on top of course. But I digress…
So, since we’re in the season of fall flavors, we’d love to know what your favorite fall treats are. Reply and let us know!
Alright, here’s what we’re covering today:
Festivals big and small, something for the doggos, and an opportunity to tour the Masonic Center
A live version of “The Price Is Right” coming to Dayton in 2024
Why Dayton Daily News’ voter guide is something you should check out
St. Anthony’s last school year after being open since 1915
Local favorite, Doubleday’s, newest restaurant venture
Our round-up of pumpkin patches ready for your picking
Let’s get to it!

🗳️ Dayton Daily News’ Voter Guide
Dayton Daily reached out to the candidates across the Miami Valley running in any contested race with the same set of questions. Their guide includes all of the candidates answers unedited, if they responded. If you want to learn about the people running for trustee, school board, or commission in your area, check this resource out. While this year’s major statewide issues are getting our attention, we have to remember that these offices, and who holds them, matter too. [Dayton Daily News]
🏫 St. Anthony School Closing Next Year
After 108 years, St. Anthony Catholic School in East Dayton will close next summer. This is due to structural issues found within the building. The primary concern is the deteriorated ceiling structure of the underground boiler room. They also found most of the building’s mechanical systems need repaired, upgraded, or replaced. All together, the estimated cost for these repairs was $13 million, which was too high. So come next school year, St. Anthony's 156 students will be starting class elsewhere. To make that search easier, the school is asking other nearby Catholic schools to give their students priority admission. [Dayton Daily News]
🍔 Doubleday's New Fast-Casual Concept Coming Soon

Providing quick grab-and-go meals, take-and-bake at home dishes, and seamless online ordering. The website is up with some background and hours, but only says "coming soon" as far as an opening date goes. [Dayton Daily News]
