πŸ€ Dayton Flyers' Record-Shattering Season

While the Dayton Flyers' season ended last Saturday with a 78-68 loss to Arizona, it was marked by many 'firsts' and new records. They ended the program's seven-year NCAA tournament drought and advanced to the second round for the first time in nine years.

Their first NCAA win, a 17-point comeback against Nevada, tied for the fifth-largest comeback in tournament history.

Stellar team performance drove these results, particularly from DaRon Holmes II and Koby Brea.

Holmes, a junior forward, became a unanimous All-American. He averaged 20.4 points a game and currently sits at 11th in Dayton's all-time scoring list. Additionally, he set new records at UD for career blocks and dunks.

Brea led the nation in 3-point shooting percentage, making 49.8% of his attempts. This sets a new record at UD for players who attempted over 150 3-pointers.

Collectively, the Flyers hit 39.9% of their 3s this season, setting a school record and ranking third in the nation.

The 2023-24 Flyers had a helluva season and made a lot of folks in the Miami Valley proud. Here's to their success and it only being the beginning! [Dayton Daily News]

🚧 I-75 Update: 725 to US 35 Improvements

This Monday, March 25th, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) resumed work on I-75. This phase of construction stretches from the 725 exit in Miamisburg to U.S. 35 in downtown Dayton.

Work along this route should be completed by October 15th. Meanwhile, drivers can expect periodic lane closures from 7 pm to 7 am. And there will be the usual traffic shifts, ramp closures, and lane restrictions that we all know (and love).

This ongoing I-75 overhaul in Montgomery County started in 2022 and aims to significantly upgrade the roadway. The plan includes laying new pavement, installing storm sewers, enhancing lighting, and making minor bridge repairs.

But when will this entire I-75 project end? Never! Just kidding. ODOT plans to cross the finish line in the Summer of 2025. [WDTN]
